Chris Dockins received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University in 2002 and a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in May of 2007.
Chris has experience in dealing with children, teens, and parents through his work at the Denton County Child Advocacy Center in Lewisville, Texas. There he has helped families affected by sexual abuse regain composure due to their traumatic experiences so that they could rise above their circumstances. Through this process Christopher has learned how important it is to have faith in Christ because through Him we can endure great adversity (Phil. 4:13). "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus" (Phil. 1:6).
Chris believes that life is complex and should not be compartmentalized by separating the different aspects of our lives. It is not healthy and definitely not biblical to pretend that our work life does not affect our home life and vice versa. Likewise, our faith in Christ cannot be separated from our experiences in the world because we are called to be Christ's missionaries (Matt. 28: 19-20). Sometimes we can get confused when these complexities of life overwhelm us. For this reason, Chris sees the gracious revelation of scripture as the firm foundation that can guide people through the tough seasons of life and lead them to their true calling of glorifying God. God has given us the privilege of accompanying Him in His eternal plan and for that reason our lives are not our own.
Chris brings a heart for children, teens, and parents together with his love of scripture in order to serve the Body of Christ as a Biblical Counselor. His desire is to see that each individual member of the Body effectively serves Christ and his purpose.

She has a wide range of experience in sales, speaking, teaching, discipleship, and leading groups. Experiencing a reconciled marriage after seven years of being divorced, Cheryl and her husband, Jeff, formed Hope Matters Marriage Ministries, Inc.

They desire to share boldly what God has taught them and how He has worked so mightily in their lives and relationship.
Cheryl and Jeff have been instrumental in helping churches see the monumental need for a dedicated marriage ministry within their church, and partner with many to develop this essential ministry. They have been asked to be guest speakers in many different arenas including church worship services (6000+ in attendance) where they are the featured sermon, mini 4-week marriage conferences (1000 in attendance), Bible studies, DivorceCare recovery groups, large Bible fellowship classes (300+), retreats, women's events, radio interviews (Renewal Radio with Dr. Gene Getz), and small group settings.
